About the Role


The Business Analyst will prepare detailed analysis of production performance, efficiency reporting, financial modelling and cost benefit analyses to support business strategy and informed decision-making.

This role will also run and manage a dedicated reporting platform (Power BI) for business performance reporting, and will act as direct support to the Regional CFO for special inquiries and projects.


Key Responsibilities


Analysis & Reporting

  • Review financial and operational data to develop reports, analysis and recommendations for Executive and Senior Managers

  • Prepare efficiency and production performance reporting across the business

  • Provide business insight reporting to improve performance through data analysis available through company systems

Planning, Monitoring & BI

  • Develop metrics, dashboards and visualisations to measure performance across the business

  • Identify data requirements and sourcing mechanisms to deliver informative dashboards and reporting

  • Champion improvements to the organisation’s analytical tools to meet stakeholder requirements

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Work with the finance team to establish key internal reporting including actuals, budgets and forecasts

  • Support reporting and analysis required for executive decision making

Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Undertake financial project analysis to support operational and business requirements

  • Identify key data and insights to recommend continuous improvement opportunities

  • Support business integration projects (including finance-led initiatives)

Stakeholder Support

  • Provide operational reporting support to the Regional CFO

  • Prepare data for presentations, executive/customer meetings within required timeframes

  • Validate data and deliver accurate reporting required by internal teams and customers

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics or related discipline (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience in a similar Business Analyst / Financial Analyst type role within a complex environment

  • High level of computer literacy and strong working knowledge of reporting tools

  • Demonstrated experience with business intelligence and analytics (Power BI)

  • Ability to combine data from multiple sources

  • High-level analytical capability and attention to detail

  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Australia (less than 10%)

Desirable

  • Knowledge of DBMS concepts including tables, joins and SQL querying

  • Experience with Business Central (Nav)

  • Experience within a manufacturing or mining-centric organisation
